The project represents a joint effort between studio LFA, PlusUrbia, GSH Studio, Oski Studio. The team was among the finalists for their design concept of Miami’s World Trade Center’s future commercial destination.
The World Trade Center Miami is endowed with a privileged location that affords its buildings with outstanding views of Miami, Key Biscayne and South Beach. This project becomes the ideal upscale destination for residents and visitors alike; retail, office and hotels provide round the clock activity that transforms Port Miami into an anchor for South Florida as well as setting a new standard for new waterfront development.
The World Trade Center’s prime location and development standards will become the newest and finest of Miami’s emerging districts, not only attracting tourists with a range of hotel options but also as a new trade and service district, following WTC goals.
Connectivity to mainland is crucial to the district’s success; providing a range of transportation options, WTC Miami will seem as an immediate extension of downtown while maintaining its identifiable urban island feel. Including one of the city’s longest public promenades. It will become a destination by simply its physical attributes, engaging the water’s edge at every level and in a variety of manners supported by shops, boutiques, cafes and restaurants on the water.
